The Staunton Farmers Market officially opened at the Wharf area on May 22, 1993. The creation of the city’s downtown farmers market was the result of several years of research and development by a broad-based
committee of Staunton city and Augusta County citizens. Over the course of 31 years, the market has grown in numbers of vendors and variety of products.
